Trees help shape the look and feel of any and all landscapes. They are perennial and woody plants, growing very tall in most cases. While there is no official minimum height, it is generally accepted that a plant that grows past a minimum of 5 or 6 meters is considered a tree. All trees also have secondary branches growing away from the trunk. There are many trees in the world that are thousands of years old, making these species some of the oldest living things on the planet.
